Deana Nastic is an internationally established photographer. (b. 1964 in Belgrade, Serbia) based in Toronto, Canada. After Deana’s successful career in fine art, Deana replaced her paintbrush with a camera. Falling in love with a new “painting tool”, she began experimenting. She saw this as an extension of her work in watercolours, enraptured by the fluidity she was able to express in this new medium.

After working for years, styling various photographic techniques and developing her new
signature approach and style. Deana presented a solo exhibition of her work, entitled “Invisible Brush” in 2016 at the Izzy Gallery, in Toronto, Canada. The following year, she participated in Project X-Posed, a collaborative effort dubbed The Disruptor Series, which was presented to commemorate the Canadian Arts and Fashion Awards (CAFA) fifth anniversary. Since then, Deana's work has been featured in distinguished galleries such as Immagis Fine Art Photography in Munich, Germany, and Gallery Gad Collection in Paris, France, further setting in stone her international presence and praise within the art world.

Throughout her educational journey, Deana Nastic indulged in the luxury of experimenting with various media and techniques, constantly pushing her boundaries and exposing herself to new experiences. In recent years, her unwavering passion, determination, and relentless work ethic have culminated in the development of her distinctive style. She attributes the allure of photography to igniting her spirit of spontaneity and enabling it to flourish. Exploring the myriad possibilities of this vibrant medium has elevated her artistry to unprecedented heights.

Her intimate portraits capture a spectrum of emotions, veiled in solitude, evoking mysticism, and ethereality. Employing long exposure techniques and unconventional lighting, Deana orchestrates shadows reminiscent of life itself—a moody dance where light and shadow intertwine.
